Adopting a Potcake
Our puppy rescue center is always open and ready to process off-island and of course on-island, adoptions.
We always have pups available for adoption at our center, however, we cannot reserve a specific pup until an application has been approved. In fact at any one time there are about 40 puppies in foster homes across the island, all waiting for their forever families.
Each and every Potcake pup that we get through our doors is special to us, and every dog that we can place into a wonderful forever home is one less dying needlessly of neglect, abuse, disease or starvation or being euthanised.
The Adoption Process
If you are interested in adopting a certain pup, or wish to be on our waiting list for the dog that is right for you, please fill out the adoption application form, email it to us and we will be in touch. We cannot reserve a particular puppy until an application has been received, reviewed and approved.
We carry out background checks and discuss living arrangements with all potential new parents so be ready for a few questions! Then we will discuss the departure process!

Dory is a spunky puppy! She came to us as part of a litter of nine and all but one of her siblings have found their forever homes. There is not much that phases this beautiful girl, she walks confidently out into the world (especially on the beach), she likes digging holes, finding sticks and playing! She likes to make friends with whoever comes through the door, she's excited to start the next chapter of her life!

Qora came in as the most nervous pup of her litter and she still is quite shy and can be reactive initially when new people approach her. It takes her a bit of time to build her trust in you but once she does you get to see the funny, affectionate pup that she actually is. She loves to cuddle up on the couch and her exercise of choice is swimming! The hardest thing about her morning walks is getting her out of the ocean. She would thrive with a quieter household that has lot’s of dog experience. All this beautiful girl needs is loving people who will give her the time she needs to come out of her shell.

Squirt is the last of her litter still waiting for her furever home. She is an inquisitive and incredibly smart little lady. She is going to be on the smaller side for a potcake but even though she is small in stature she has a big personality, she’ll need some training just to keep her moving in the right direction but absolutely loves treats so will be easy to work with. She loves cuddle time but one of her favorite times of day is going out on her walks and searching for the perfect stick to chew on.

Daniela came to us as part of a litter of 8, they were left with us unexpectedly so we sent her and three brothers to one foster home and the other 4 pups to another. She is an excitable, playful pup but not as boisterous as her brothers. She a very lovely lady, she is happy to curl up next to someone and watch the world go by and wait patiently for pats. She was initially a little nervous but has been doing so well since being back in facility full time. She does well with everyone we send her our for walks with so she is just waiting on a family to fall as in love with her as we have.

Marlin is just a big lump of love hoping to find someone ready to spend their days giving him belly rubs. Marlin came to us as part of a litter of nine, he was the last to come in from his foster home but adjusted very quickly to being in facility. We've been told that getting him started on his walks can be a bit of a challenge but once you get him going everyone has a great time. He's building up his confidence with the sounds of the cars but once he's somewhere a bit quieter he shows his goofy side and once he's comfortable his personality really comes out. He loves to be on a couch or in bed with someone, if you're ready to relax then you're ready for Marlin.

Dolly is a little survivor! When she first came into our care she was so sick that we were worried she wouldn't make it but she pulled herself through it and is now doing so well. Whilst she can manage being on her own she much prefers companionship, whether that be with another dog or people or, the best of both worlds, both! She is not the most overly energetic dog so when it is time to wind down she is a champion cuddler. In addition to her naturally inquisitive and gentle nature she also has gorgeous good looks, she's just waiting for someone to recognize that and snap her up.

If you’re looking for your own version of Scooby Doo then Peanut is your boy! He’s a gorgeous, goofy, and playful pup who loves to eat and go on adventures! Peanut currently has 5 canine siblings so does well with other dogs once introduced. He walks well on leash and has good recall off. He loves to hike, swim, cuddle and play. His favorite thing in the world, just like Scooby, is food! He’ll do almost anything to get some! Peanut will do best with an experienced dog owner who is willing to continue the training he has been receiving with his foster mum. He is currently being fostered in Pennsylvania, waiting for his forever home, but can travel for the right home.

Pango is one of a litter of 6 who had a rough start in life, they came to us fearful and shy, and Pango was no exception. While he remains a quiet boy who may be shy with newcomers, he is so playful and sweet when comfortable. He loves the outdoors but would be just as happy cuddling on the couch with you all day! Pango would do best with another dog and someone who can give him lots of time so that he can continue skill building and reach his full potential as your best friend! He is currently being fostered in Pennsylvania, waiting for his forever home, but can travel for the right home.

There isn’t a more fitting name for this gorgeous girl, what stands out most about her is that she is full of heart. She is a huge cuddle bug with one of her favorite pass times being snuggling up with someone on the couch with her head in their lap. Even though she does enjoy some down time she is quite a rambunctious pup and loves the company of other dogs. She is anxious about meeting new people and would be better suited to a quieter household without too much foot traffic. She has attended a four week board and train program with Miracle K9 Training where she thrived, they’ve really helped her learn how to manage her anxieties. She is currently in foster in Ohio but, for the right home, can travel.

Antonio came to us as part of a litter of eight, they were all very shy when they first came in but have been working hard to come out of their shell. Antonio has been doing really well, of his siblings he is the most outgoing of the bunch. He loves the company of other dogs and is getting better and better on his walks. He's a very food motivated pup, when his bowl goes down in the morning he has licked it clean about five seconds later. Antonio is a very gentle boy with people and a fun playmate for his siblings. He is a very sweet boy with a lot of love to give.

Rascal is a wonderful but very shy boy. He is still very scared of noises, especially the sounds of the traffic, but shows more of his personality in quieter environment where he can hang out on some furniture. We have been giving him a lot of encouragement and slowly but surely he is becoming more confident as the days go on. With just a bit of time to decompress he shows you his goofy side; he loves his toys and playing with his siblings but his favorite time of day is meal time. A little bit of consistency and a few yummy meals are the quickest ways to this lovely boy’s heart.

When Raffles first came to us he was quite nervous little guy but has really blossomed since then. He still needs encouragement on his walks to get moving but has a natural curiosity about the world that wins out. He’s a playful and getting more excited about exploring but he does quite enjoy his cuddle time a well. His favorite toy to play with is an ice cube, he’ll just sit down with one and lick it until its gone. He doesn't like being on his own, he's looking for a buddy to keep him company.

Santiago is one of eight pups, he knows how to stand out though with his very impressive set of ears! He is a bit of a shy boy and really comes out of his shell with other dogs. On his walks he is still getting used to the sounds of the cars but with some treats and patience he is getting more and more confident going out. He loves his food and will happily eat whatever is put down in front of him, meal time is probably the quickest way to his heart. Once he gets used to you he actively looks for cuddles and playmates with people as well as dogs.

Sammi came to us with a big scar down his back, we don't know what it was caused by but it hasn't slowed him down for a second. He likes to explore and greet new people. He is building up his confidence out on walks and is still working on his leash walking because he does like to follow his nose. He loves to play and is a very excitable boy but knows when it is time to wind down and relax in his crate. All he needs now is a home to call his own.

Khloe is a very sweet lady. She isn't in your face asking for attention but is content to let you come to her and give her pats. Once she gets comfortable she is a very playful pup. She's building up confidence on her walks with the sound of the cars but even when she gets nervous you can keep her moving. One of her favorite places to hang out is her foster mum's bed. She may not come across as too outgoing initially but she is a really gentle lady ready to go home.

Mateo is a ball of fun, he likes to strut his stuff out on his walks and adores the company of his siblings. He can be a little nervous when leaving home but let's his curiosity win out as soon as he gets out into the world. Little kids make him anxious so he would prefer a home without them. He's incredibly food motivated and very smart, in the right home he is absolutely ready to thrive.

Isabella is a spectacular little lady. She loves the company of other dogs and meeting new people. She is still building up confidence on her walks as she is not a huge fan of big noises but she is working on it, she likes to lean on people when she gets a bit nervous to make her feel better. She also loves her treats, with treats of any kind you can win her over. She's got a wonderful, waggy tail that she likes to greet people with and when she is really happy she likes to flash her gorgeous potcake smile, when you see it you won't be able to help but smile right back at her.

Diego is an incredibly sweet pup. He enjoys playing with his three boisterous sisters in their pen but is very content to let them take center stage when meeting people and relax in his bed. He is comfortable with people but can be a little shy on a first meeting until he gets to know you a bit better. He isn't a huge fan of walking on his walks just yet, the sounds of traffic are a little scary for him but with some encouragement you can get him going. He is a real love bug, he's just looking for a lap he can cuddle up on.

Liliana is a very amusing girl. She appreciates the company of another dog and is loving meeting new people, if you go into her pen with her she is the first pup coming up to greet you. She is a bit more on the shy side when it comes to going out on walks but she enjoys the beach and with enough time her curiosity takes over and she enjoys a good sniff. She's quirky in all of the best ways and very smart, Liliana will never fail to make you laugh so if you're looking for a great companion Liliana may be the girl you need.

Gabriela is a very smart lady, she loves hanging out in her pen with her siblings and watching the world go by. She has always been friendly but has been taking to all the people we have had coming through our doors in facility. She loves her treats and will pick up training very quickly. She lover her toys, she isn't too discerning in what toy you give her, she'll happily take whatever you want to give her. Alongside her smarts comes a good amount of mischief so if you're looking for some fun than Gabriela is your girl.

We are dependent on donations to help rescue dogs from the street, give them the care they need and find forever homes. If you can, please make a donation today. We are always in need of volunteers to open up their homes to foster potcakes.
