Adopting a Potcake
Our puppy rescue center is always open and ready to process off-island and of course on-island, adoptions.
We always have pups available for adoption at our center, however, we cannot reserve a specific pup until an application has been approved. In fact at any one time there are about 40 puppies in foster homes across the island, all waiting for their forever families.
Each and every Potcake pup that we get through our doors is special to us, and every dog that we can place into a wonderful forever home is one less dying needlessly of neglect, abuse, disease or starvation or being euthanised.
The Adoption Process
If you are interested in adopting a certain pup, or wish to be on our waiting list for the dog that is right for you, please fill out the adoption application form, email it to us and we will be in touch. We cannot reserve a particular puppy until an application has been received, reviewed and approved.
We carry out background checks and discuss living arrangements with all potential new parents so be ready for a few questions! Then we will discuss the departure process!

Fudge came in with six brothers and sisters after having survived parvo virus. She has already proven herself to be a formidable little lady and now that she is back up to 100% health the loving, mischievous side to her personality has been allowed to shine. When she first came in she was a timid little pup, but very quickly got over her nerves. Now she loves to be the center of attention, she likes to be right where the action is when people are around and is a great walker. She loves a good run around on the beach and is always up for play time. She is incredibly smart and very food motivated, she can sniff out a treat anywhere. This big beautiful lady has been waiting long enough for her new home, if someone is looking for an adventure buddy to put a smile on their face then Fudge is your girl.

Truffles came to us following recovery from parvo virus. Prior to coming into our care he hadn’t had much people interaction so was quite nervous initially but settled in quickly. Despite his size he still thinks he is still a baby. The sounds of the traffic can make him a bit nervous when he's out walking but he just keeps moving his way through it. What really keeps him moving is the company of another pup. He loves having a buddy around, meeting new dogs is so exciting for him and he loves to play. He is a bouncy pup and he builds bonds with people very quickly. He absolutely loves meal times, there is very little you couldn’t get him to do as long as there is a treat involved. Truffles is big in size and heart, he is more than ready to join a very lucky family.

Dalí was brough to us off of a junkyard with five brothers and sisters. He has a big scar across his chest and one on his elbow, we will never know exactly what happened but we do know he had a difficult start to life before coming into our care. Dalí's confidence with people has skyrocketed since being with us, he actively seeks out your company and, when going out to new places where he still feels a bit unsure, he relies on the people he's built a bond with to feel secure. Dalí is fostered in a home with other dogs and enjoys not being by himself but doesn't need a home with another dog provided he's with someone who will give him plenty of cuddles. He is a playful pup, he loves his toys and will make sure to play with them until there is nothing left. He can be a little bit shy on a first meeting but once he builds that bond with you he is a velcro dog. Dalí has so much love to give, now all he needs is a family to give it to.

Fennel came in as the runt of his litter with two siblings (both of which are in the forever homes already). Fennel is a little unsure of the world, when strangers come into facility he likes to find a little corner to sit in and watch people as they go by. The quickest way to Fennel's heart is other dogs, a home with another dog (or dogs) is the ideal environment for him. He loves other dogs and they help him acclimatize to a space much quicker. He has got such a gentle, timid nature with people but with other dogs he is a playful, rambunctious pup. He's good at knowing when it is time to wind down and enjoys a cuddle at the end of the day but is definitely content to stay up past bed time and play with his toys in the yard if given the chance. He's definitely a bit more of a homebody so he is looking for a lifestyle more suited to that. This amazing pup is ready for a couch of his very own to curl up on.

Ararat came to us with his seven siblings. He was the smallest of the bunch with such a big, lovely personality. He's a super intelligent and observant little man and very playful. He is good at entertaining himself as long as there are toys around (if not, he can make toys out of anything) or playing with other pups. Ararat likes to jump and roll around with the other pups, there is no such thing as personal space whether it be morning play time or afternoon nap time. He loves exploring and sniffing everything when he is out on his morning walks. He's an active pup and loves to have zoomies on the grass. Once that energy is out though he is a huge cuddle bug and can nap for a good few hours. Ararat puts a smile on everyone's faces and is just is waiting to be snapped up.

Altai came in as part of a big litter of eight. He is a big softie, he loves the company of people and is happy just to wander around at your feet if given the chance. He is a very inquisitive pup and likes to check out whatever is going on. He does like to find one (or many) 'favorite' sticks on his walks and will proudly carry them all the way home. He has a good amount of energy but isn't the highest energy dog you will ever meet, he loves a good play session but can nap like a champion as well. He likes having a playmate and enjoys the company of another dog. He has absolutely mastered the art of puppy dog eyes, all it takes is one glance for him to melt your heart. This gorgeous boy is more than ready to add some fun into a family's life.

Madonna is the last of her litter of five still waiting to find her forever home. She lives up to her name and has a personality as big and as sparkling as the pop icon she was named after. Madonna is excited by life, when she sees someone she recognizes or even just her leash she wags her tail so much that her whole back end wiggles as well. She is very treat motivated and learns things very quickly. She loves to zoom down the beach or roll around in the grass. Once you tire her out she'll cuddle right up to you and nap like a pro. She gets along well with other dogs and sleeps nicely in a crate by herself at night. Madonna has been waiting long enough, she is ready for someone to see her star quality and take her home.

Cricket has been through a lot on her little life. She came to us as a single, scooped up by someone who found her in the middle of the road all by herself. She was quite ill when she first came into our care and her road to recovery took quite awhile. Now that she is feeling better we get to see her personality. She is an incredibly smart, mischievous little lady who is always up for a game of fetch. She is very lively and loves digging holes. She meets other dogs very well and loves attention. As long as she has some toys she is very good at entertaining herself but would definitely like someone to curl up with at the end of the night. This little warrior is so deserving of an amazing next chapter.

Elsie came to us after someone discovered her and her four siblings left in a zipped up shopping bag outside of our facility. She has come a long way since then and is doing fantastically. She had some nervousness initially and she still is the quietest of her remaining litter but she is also a very affectionate little lady. Whilst she is fine being on her own, she prefers having company of both dogs and people. She is not the most high energy dog you will ever meet, she is very playful in facility but when she goes out she is very content to lounge around and watch the world go by. She is a very food motivated and gets very excited at meal times. All the silly Ms Elsie needs now is a family to call her own.

Ethel came in with four brothers and sisters, left in a bag outside of our door. She is definitely the go-getter of her litter. She is first on her back legs to greet somebody and she is curious about whatever is going on around her. She has a bubbly personality and is very friendly with everyone she meets. She has spurts of energy and loves digging holes on the beach but it doesn't take much to tire her out. She appreciates having a buddy so she would like a good amount of cuddle time as well. Ethel is full to the brim with love that she is ready to give to some very lucky people. Ethel is a bundle of joy just waiting to be in someone's home.

Mel came to us with her three siblings after her mum, a stray, gave birth in someone's yard. She is a little pocket rocket, full of fun and spice. Mel likes to meet life head on. She is an explorer at heart and has a blast on her beach walks in the morning. She is quite content to trot alongside someone and if you find a patch of grass for her to roll around in she will be the happiest pup. Meal times are her favorite time of day followed closely by whenever anyone has a treat in hand. Mel is good with other pups, she's bouncy and likes to play constantly, but doesn't need to be with them as long as she has your attention. This goofy girl is always up for an adventure and we couldn't think of a bigger adventure then joining a family of her very own.

ABOUT:
Minnie came to us with her sister Mel and two more siblings that have already found their new homes. Despite their similar looks, Minnie is quite different from Mel, she enjoys a slower approach to life. She is excited to go out on walks with whoever will take her but she likes to stop and stretch out for a bit, get some cuddles and move on. She isn't the biggest fan of going in the water but she really appreciates her time outdoors. Minnie loves her toys but once you get her energy out she is an excellent sleeper as well. She is a great balance of gentle and fun. Food is the quickest way to her heart although it doesn't take much for her to fall in love with you. Minnie can't wait to find her new family.

Sol came to us after being found on a construction site, stuck in a drain pipe. His name means sun in Spanish and he has defintely earned that title. In facility he is a friendly little man, always ready for a belly rub but is still working on his confidence when going out. The sounds of traffic are a bit intimidating for him but once he is far enough away he has a great time. He has so much fun on the beach and even loves taking a dip in the ocean. Sol is a very clever pup, he picks things up very quickly and loves having a routine. He has his spurts of energy but he would thrive as a couch potato. We have watched Sol come on leaps and bounds since coming into our care, this little ray of sunshine is ready to fly home.

ABOUT:
Polly was found on death's door when she came into our care. After a lot of TLC her and her seven brothers and sisters got healthy again and ready for adoption. Polly is a pretty easy going pup, she's not the most energetic lady in the world but she does enjoy going for good stroll in the mornings. She loves zooming around in the grass and with a little encouragement she'll even dip her paws in the water. Polly loves meeting any and everyone and is as content to lay by your feet as she is playing with you. Precious Polly steals the hearts of everyone she meets, she could be your newest family member.

Umka came in as the runt of her litter of 8. She definitely does not let that slow her down, she is tiny but mighty. She loves to play with her much larger siblings but won't let them push her around just because she is small. Umka is such a sociable girl, she is always first to greet someone when they come through the door, all she wants is lots and lots of pets. She is an excellent walker when she goes out and we can send her out with anyone. She will do just about anything for a treat. After a full day of fun she conks out in her crate and is very good about sleeping through the night. It's Umka's wonderfully bold spirit that got her this far, she is ready to bring that into someone else's life now.

Steven came into our care with his seven siblings after being found with no mum in the streets. Steven is the definition of a big, dopey boy. He is very sweet and laid back. He's so expressive and always gets excited to meet people. He has definitely embraced island living and enjoys a more relaxed walk in the morning, he likes slowly toddling along next to someone and having ample opportunities to stop and smell the roses. Steven loves his toys, loves his treats but more than anything loves company. All he really needs to keep him happy are people who want to spend time with him (and give him lots of belly rubs). Steven is such a special boy, it is time for him to find his home.

Moby came to us as part of a litter of eight puppies. When he first came in he was a bit shy but has really come out of his shell. This playful lump of love is such a friendly boy. He will happily jump up on his hind legs to greet whoever comes up to his pen. He is very smart and treat motivated so will pick up training very quickly. He enjoys the world at his own leisurely pace, whilst he does have his spurts of energy he never seems to be in a rush to get anywhere too quickly (unless there is food waiting for him). Moby is a gentle giant, he is loving and loyal and an absolute goof. He is ready to slide right into someone's life and become their best friend.

Yoda came to us as part of a large litter found in the bushes. He has only just grown into his ears but they are how he earned his name. He has been a happy pup since he first came in, always excited to come out of his crate in the morning and start the day. He is inquisitive about the world around him and picks things up very quickly. He loves attention and, in particular, belly rubs. He'll be happily walking along next to you when he decides that he's just going to flop over for ask you to rub his belly. Yoda can be a boisterous little guy but he likes to have company in his excitement. He enjoy havig a buddy (human or dog) to play with or relax with once play time is over. Yoda is hoping to find his new home soon.

Bullet came to us with his litter of eight after having been found near death. He bounced back amazingly and has flourished into quite an amazing little man. Bullet loves to be in the middle of the action, whenever someone comes in to say hi he makes sure that he gets pats even if that means pushing his brother's out the way from time to time. He is very much a pup that knows what he wants. When he goes out on his walks he likes going for a little paddle in the ocean and rolling around in the sand. He is a very smart, very active boy. This gorgeous boy will slot very easily into some very fortunate person's life.

Mikey came into our care with seven brothers and sisters. Initially he was the shyest of the bunch, and whilst he is still the quietest, we have watched him open up beautifully over his time in out care. He gets so much confidence from the people around him or other dogs he is with. He loves going out on his walks in the morning and will even go for a swim (as long as you go with him). He isn't a very high energy pup so once he's back from his walk he loves a nice, long nap and won't turn down an opportunity to snuggle. Mikey is such a loveable boy, after such a rough start to life he is ready to thrive in his new home.

Nail came to us with his seven siblings, they were found in extremely poor condition and it was a bit touch and go when he first came in. Thankfully he is as tough as nails and survived! Nail is a friendly little man but doesn't feel the need to push his siblings out of the way to get your attention, he will happily just sit in his bed until you come up and give him pats. He is still building up his confidence around the sounds of traffic but loves going out on his walks and is very good about meeting new people. He is very treat driven so even in moments where he gets a little nervous they are a great motivator for him. Nail is a great mixture of playful and calm, all he needs now is an excellent new home to match his excellent personality.
